Welcome to Rediscover Ceramics Studio

Nestled in the serene Perth Hills of Wattle Grove, Rediscover Ceramics is the creative haven of ceramic artist and educator, Danica Wichtermann. Inspired by the native flora and fauna that surround the studio, Danica crafts unique, handmade porcelain pieces that reflect the beauty of the Australian landscape.

“I’m just as passionate about sharing my knowledge as I am about creating my own ceramic objects, and I’m incredibly grateful to meet so many wonderful people along the way.”

Over the years, I’ve come to see how deeply my teaching and making practices are intertwined — there’s nothing quite like seeing a student light up with inspiration, then bring their own personality and style into the work they create.”

Pottery Workshops in Perth Hills

Danica offers a range of pottery workshops suitable for all skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned artists. These hands-on sessions focus on various techniques, including hand-building and wheel-throwing, allowing participants to create functional and decorative pieces such as mugs, bowls, and planters.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Small group settings for personalized attention

  • Guidance from an experienced ceramic artist with over 18 years of teaching experience

  • All materials and tools provided

  • Relaxing environment amidst eucalyptus and fruit trees

Each workshop is based around a specific theme or project, allowing students to make the projects they wish to undertake. However, your own creative style is always encouraged, and slight modifications are totally possible.

Workshops are especially fun to do with a small group of friends or family members or come and meet some new ones!

With over 18 years of experience in ceramics and teaching, Danica brings a wealth of knowledge to her workshops. Holding a Degree in Secondary Education and a Diploma of Arts, she spent over a decade teaching at the Perth Waldorf Steiner School. She has facilitated artist projects and school incursions, run professional development for educators, and taught students from preschool through to seniors.
