Pottery Workshop- Making Vases

  • Rediscover Ceramics 6 Jack Road Wattle Grove, WA, 6107 Australia (map)

Rediscover Ceramics workshops are perfect for beginners and complete novices. If you have never worked with clay before please feel very welcome to come and experience the fun and satisfaction of creating something functional with your hands.

This is a great little project for beautifying the home, fun gift idea for a friend or loved one, and a handmade item you can use and cherish for life.

In this workshop, students will be learning how to create one medium vase or two smaller vases using stoneware clay. Danica will take you through two different making processes, one involves rolling a ball and creating a pinch pot vase, and then building the form taller with clay coils. The other involves rolling a large slab of clay, like you would pastry, and then cutting out a cone or rectangle shape and building a cylindrical vase.

On the day Danica will take you through the making process step by step . She will also be demonstrating how she does nature imprinting which she uses within her own ceramic creations. You will be able to decorate and personalize your items as you wish. You will also have the opportunity to add a splash of coloured underglazes at the end.

These classes are perfect to enjoy with a group of friends or come along by yourself and meet new ones. They are social, relaxing and heaps of fun.
